Greg Plummer

Greg grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.

After attending Western Michigan University, Greg decided to take a major change in course and follow his heart for his passion of brewing beer.

Greg went back to school and received his degree in Brewing Science and Engineering from the American Brewers Guild, one of only two schools for this degree. He spent his time in Michigan working for local craft breweries such as Big Buck Brewery and Redwood Lodge from 1996 to 1999.

A unique opportunity to work for a micro brewry in Orange County California sparked the realization of a dream of Greg's to move to California. There was a short time window to make a decision and Greg decided to go with his heart and make the leap of faith to move to Fullerton, California and go to work for BJ's Brewhouse.

A little over a year later another oportunity presented itself to come to San Diego and work as a brewer for one of the most diverse and rapidly expanding micro breweries in the country, Stone Brewing Company.

In 2000 Greg jumped on the chance and made the move to San Diego. While it was his passion to created unique craft beers, it was not long before Greg relaized that his dreams and the budget he had to live within as a Brewer did not work together.

After a lot of thought and even more prayer, Greg decided to try his hand at something new to him, Mortgage Financing.

It was like a fish taking to water. Greg absolutely loves working with numbers and running equations so the fit was perfect.

His start in the mortgage industry was not glamerous by any means. He started as a telemarketer for a small San Diego brokerage. Within 6 months of his start there he was the top producing loan officer and then in his eighth month he was managing the office.

The company decided to make the transition to a small Mortage Banker and Greg took to that challange and set up all the systems needed for a successful run at it.

While working here and making the system transitions from broker to banker, Greg was offered another opportunity. This one would have a major impact on his life. This new company was looking for the same outcome, to transition from Broker to banker. Only this company was much larger and the challange was much more exciting.

Through the next three years Greg advanced his skill set to developing investor relations, underwriting files, preparing loan documents, funding loans, and then selling the loans on the secondary market. While a very stressful period of time, these skill are what sets Greg apart from the average Loan Officer or Mortgage Planner that client may come accross.

"I believe that having this understanding of how the investment side of the mortgage industry works allows me to work with my clients on a completely different level and deliver a huge advantage to my clients," says Plummer.

After spending three years at this company Greg, with Susan, decided to start a Real Estate Brokerage of their own.

"I had worked in a small company for someone else, and I had worked in a large company for someone else, and I decided it was time to start someting of my own to do things the right way, the way I wanted them to be done, and Susan compliments me in every way in succeeding at this goal" Greg says.

"I find that many times, through my clients, I am educating the other agents who are supposed to be my competition, how to do their jobs right," says Plummer " That is why I have my list of questions for cleints to ask.

If you ask a loan agent, loan officer, loan specialist, mortgage advisor, mortgage planner, certified mortgage planning specialist, or whatever they choose to call themselves, these four questions, and for whatever reason they don't know the answers, run in the other direction!

I feel like I am working in a time of titles. Titles don't make the deal great. People are creating these titles to make an attempt to differeciate themselves from the the pack. I beleive this is only done through good old fashioned proof and results. So even though I own the company, I don't really use a title other than perhaps caring about your overall well being and success in finding the right home and Mortgage program for You and Your family.

One of my favorite quotes is from Einstein - "True Genius is the ability to recognize a problem before it happens and avoid it rather than finding solutions to correct it after the fact."

These words ring true more than ever in todays Real Estate Market.

I look forward to speaking with you and helping you find the Best Situation for you and yours.
